Why Daisies?
People chase many things. Rainbows, bluebirds, and shooting stars are a few examples. I chase daisies.
You may be wondering why I would need to chase something that doesn’t move. The reason is I’m terribly out of shape.
More seriously though, I don’t chase those beautiful summer flowers as much as I chase what they stand for. Daisies remind me of youth, innocence, and happiness...three things a lot of people pursue. I’m just one of many.
Besides which, and most importantly, the word daisy has more than one meaning. Firstly, it means the
common flower we are all so familiar with; but secondly, it means “an excellent or first rate person or thing”. And I most definitely chase those.
I thoroughly believe in the pursuit of excellence. I want to surround myself with excellence, in both people and things, but even more, I want to be an excellent person. I want to do and make and write excellent things. So I chase daisies! And I get a lot of fun out of it.

So if you’re chasing daisies too, I hope I can help you along that path...help you run a little faster and have a little more fun. Because it is a hard road. If you don’t know that yet, it won’t take long, I promise. The road gets rocky two feet from the door.
I'm coming with you! (To the Tardis, that is. :P)
ReplyDeleteGood thing it's bigger on the inside! It might have to fit a lot of people! :P
